UCLA Health
Challenge
UCLA Health, the #1 Cancer Care provider in California, aimed to reach a diverse community with 54% non-English speakers. With cancer being a difficult disease, quality care and language barriers were significant challenges. UCLA Health was committed to providing care to all patients, irrespective of their language, while complying with HIPAA regulations.
Solution
We refocused UCLA Health’s messaging to communicate quality and availability of care to the diverse local community. Using custom identity solutions, programmatic, paid search, paid social, and connected TV, we created print and digital assets in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, and Spanish to overcome language barriers and connect authentically with each community.
Results
Our approach led to a significant increase in patients seeking oncological care at UCLA Health, resulting in a 96% increase in ROI. This success was achieved through targeted messaging in multiple languages, revealing a previously unidentified patient pool in need of care. UCLA Health’s commitment to connecting with diverse communities removed a significant barrier to quality care and fulfilled their goal of “healing humankind, one patient at a time.
